Dana is a Master’s level Licensed Clinical Social Worker (CSW). She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and received an undergraduate degree in Social Work (BSW) and received her Masters in Social Work (LCSW) from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Currently she owns a successful private practice conveniently located off Valleydale Road. Dana is also a contract member of the graduate facility of the University of Alabama Dept. of Social Work working as a Practice Lab Instructor for the Advance Standing DL program. Building upon almost 15 years of practice in the field of mental health, providing services to children, adolescents and adults through individual, family and group therapy in both residential and outpatient settings, she believes that her life experience and education have assisted her exceptional ability in fostering change for individuals.
She is highly adaptive in style and techniques, combining a more eclectic approach drawing concepts from several different modes of counseling while applying her training, skills and experience to meet the unique needs of each individual. Her work is driven by the understanding of the mind, body/spirit connection. Misalignment of this connection will inevitably create anxiety, dis-ease, emotional and spiritual pain. Dana believes that we all possess untapped internal resources within and these resources guide us down the path of growth and change that we so desire. Her commitment is to foster a safe environment to help people discover their truth while inspiring insight and empowerment.
